Who We Are Kohana Coffee, a wholly owned subsidiary of Westrock Coffee Company, manufactures cold-brew coffee using our unique, patented process in our Richmond, CA plant, and sells products in both RTD cans and bottled concentrate.

Position Overview We seek experienced production line operators to join our Production Team at the Kohana plant in Richmond, California.
Work includes operation of production machinery, identification of potential or actual food safety concerns, and collaboration with team members to meet production levels.
Previous experience with can retorting is especially desirable.
Everyone at our plant needs to be passionate about food safety and quality.
Position Location and Salary These openings are located in Richmond, California in the East Bay area of San Francisco.
We have openings on both the 1st and 2nd shifts, although flexibility and some weekend work is necessary.
Our initial hiring wage falls in the range of $18 to $25 per hour; we reserve the higher end of the hiring scale for Operators who hold a current California retort license.
Operator wages range from $18 to $34 per hour, with variation based on experience, skills, and certification levels.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
Safely operate beverage manufacturing machinery such as fillers, cappers, and sleevers, plus palletize and pack finished products; Consistently and accurately record all data relevant to food safety regulations, internal requirements, and our canning license on our ready-to-drink (RTD) production line; Process RTD cans through the retort machine safely and properly, if licensed to do so, loading and unloading cans to keep the line running smoothly; Quickly identify any food and/or workplace safety issues and communicate any risks clearly and timely to cross-functional stakeholders and offer possible solutions to mitigate those risks; and Collaborate with production co-workers, the FSQ team members, plant management, and others to produce safe, quality products on every run.
Minimum qualifications for the position include the following:
Minimum of 1 year of production line experience in beverage or food manufacturing industry; Stand, walk, bend, move, and manipulate products and machines for up to 2-3 hours at a time on a concrete floor while working on the production lines, plus regularly lifting up to about 50 pounds; Good critical thinking skills, proactive, self-starter, and organized with meticulous attention to detail coupled with an ongoing focus both food and workplace safety; Effective interpersonal skills, good verbal communicator, collaborative, approachable, and works well on cross-functional teams combined with a positive attitude; Hold (or quickly obtain) relevant certifications such as Retort license, HAACP, SQF Practitioner, and/or Better Process Control School; and High school diploma or GED required.
