ABOUT THE POSITION
The Sr Manager, Purchasing will act as a champion and spokesperson for achieving supply chain customer and financial performance by acting as an active driver of leading the people, processes, and tools within the organization to effectively manage the purchasing function.
The right individual will be a driven performer with experience in a supervisory or management purchasing role in a food company (ideally organic) and will be able to drive best practices and efficiency in the supply chain while effectively managing a team.
This individual will be located on the west coast, with a preference for the Bay Area, for easy access to attend meetings at the Richmond, CA headquarters.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

years experience in a procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain role within a food manufacturing company.
1
years of supervisory experience.
CPSM, APICS or Equivalent Designation encouraged.
Experience buying and sourcing fresh raw ingredients, dry ingredients, and packaging .
Understanding of SQF, GMP, USDA Organic, FDA, ROC/ROA Certifications
Background in scheduling, forecasting, procurement or planning preferred.
Diverse Food Manufacturing/CPG background highly desirable.
Effective influencing and negotiating skills.
Excellent reporting/analytic competency.
Strong ability to collaborate and build internal and external relationships.
Proven track record of developing a high performing team that's aligned with Company goals.
Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
Ability to travel within the US (approx. 10%).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive Values & Mission
Develop and implement procurement vision in alignment with company values.
Purchasing & Operations
Lead purchasing operations to achieve internal and external commitments.
Own co-manufacturing relationships to ensure meeting demand plan.
Formulate and streamline supply chain operations model/process to enhance operation cost, inventory control, on time delivery and meet manufacturing plan.
Create supply chain measurement and analytical tools to facilitate informed business decisions.
Cost Reduction
Lead cost reduction negotiations with vendors and co-manufacturing partners.
Refine and strengthen the order management system, implement best practices and improve process efficiencies,
Drive improvements in supply chain and liaison with innovation team, operations to support execution against savings targets.
Develop supply chain models for national expansion, sourcing materials and supporting kiosk strategy.
Implement strategic sourcing of all raw/finished goods, negotiating terms favorable to company.
Work with R&D and QA to validate secondary suppliers for raw ingredients to ensure supply and prevent stock outs.
Design and Implement key performance indicators, metrics, tools, procedures and systems to achieve best in class team performance and drive continuous improvement.
Conduct quarterly business reviews with co-manufacturing and key ingredient suppliers
Support S&OP demand planning process to maximize service levels.
Develop, implement and continuously refine demand planning, procurement, and supplier management.
Apply methodologies and standardized demand planning to improve forecast accuracy.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
