Leidos has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager at a client site in Richmond, California. The role involves managing a team of engineers and geologists responsible for a large-scale environmental monitoring, groundwater extraction and cap maintenance program at an active oil refinery. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated expertise in project management, groundwater extraction system operation and optimization, groundwater monitoring program optimization, civil project design and construction oversight, groundwater data interpretation, report preparation and regulatory compliance. The preferred candidate will also be responsible for the oversight of a full-time crew of subcontracted maintenance technicians.
The candidate will be responsible for project technical execution, regulatory compliance, customer advocacy, and safety stewardship. The candidate will maintain strong working relationships with clients, staff, and subcontractors. Other responsibilities include mentoring technical field staff, preparation of construction documents and plans, review of documents, preparation of reports and cost proposals, coordinating project activities, supervising project teams, progress reporting, and coordinating all activities with Line Management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Geology.
A minimum of 10 years of direct experience in the realm of environmental monitoring, site investigation, data analysis, remediation system construction and operation.
California Professional Engineer (Civil) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification preferred
Applicant must have a working knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations, and preferably have current OSHA HAZWOPER training.
Experience with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and reporting a plus.
Engineering components include basic civil and mechanical design tasks such as:
- Piping upgrade design
- Concrete pad and footing design
- Pump and valve selection
- Data telemetry system operation and evaluation
- Monitoring well installation
A high level of behavior-based safety culture engagement is necessary, and prior behavior-based safety training is a plus. Medical clearance and random drug screening will be required after hire.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including standard software programs Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Autodesk AutoCAD.
